Weighing, automatically labelling, transferring data to the computerAluminium Cast Alloy in Form of Pigs |
![]() |
|
The firm Aluminium Rheinfelden GmbH produces aluminium alloys. These semi-finished products (e. g.
the highly ductile die-cast material Silafont 36®) are designed for the mass-production of castings,
mainly in motor vehicle industry. The delivery in form of pig stacks shall be especially mentioned: The
entire packaging material, such as base, wire netting and belts can be completely melted together with
the original pigs - thus creating no waste and no costs for the return of empties. |

Due to safety reasons, the evaluating unit of the scales [2]
together with a logging printer are located in a switch cabinet placed besides the weighing bridge,
picture 2. Here, the operator enters the batch number, material number, article and form of delivery
before starting the weighing process. |

|
The actual weighing is initiated by a pull switch after the pig stack has been placed upon the scales, thus starting the automatic label printing and the transfer of the data record to the EDP (the Bizerba CIS-program). The label is attached at the side of the stack, picture 3. The CIS-program, which also organises the operation at the evaluating unit of the scales (ITU), processes the data and sends them to SAP together with the production records. In the same firm some more Bizerba CIS-plants are applied, a charging weighing plant, another dispatching weighing plant and a recycling weighing plant together with the respective transmission of the data and the production records to SAP. |
