Formula-1 wheel rims, for instance, are manufactured of forged magnesium, thus making each racing car lighter by 4 kilogram. The blanks are processed in special machines, see Fig. 1, afterwards they all are checked for their conformance with the fixed weight at a set of ITC-1 Compact scales [1] (see Fig. 2), because there are minimum weights laid down for some racing series. |

Then the wheel rims are varnished, and all of them are weighed. The final weight of the wheel rims, that has been agreed upon with the customers, shall be exact. Wheel rims having inadmissible differences are immediately improved, only then they reach the stage of delivery. The scales used here, see Fig. 3, correspond to the scales in production. It is equipped with a data output, too, to be connected to a printer or EDP. |
