Some may not know it exactly: carry-on luggage over 8 kg weight shall go to the cargo area, and the weights of the suitcases are different for internal flights (1 suitcase having a weight of 23 kg) and for flights abroad (2 suitcases with 32 kg each). The luggage inspection is pitiless. The Check-in staff is ordered to strictly check the luggage for their conformity with the admissible cruising weight. It is better to pre-weigh one's suitcase at home in order not to experience an unpleasant surprise at the check-in counter of the airport. |

Passengers and staff can read the weight of the pieces of luggage at separate displays, after the weight inspection the luggage is transported to the collecting depot. The weights determined for all pieces of luggage for one flight can be added up at the scales. The preconditions for the output of the luggage weights to a computer are given; as a standard the scales are equipped with a serial interface, which only needs to be activated. |
