Linerless labels

Without liner suitable for thermal direct print. Comfortable with patented grasping edge and HACCP-conform in handling.

On the label market relatively young but highly successful: linerless labels. What are the underlying facts? While traditional self-adhesive labels consist of paper, adhesive and liner, the modern linerless technology from Bizerba works without liner.

Unlike conventional labels whose liner needs a lot of space on the label roll, linerless labels are provided with a special surface coating, are rolled up and adhere to each other. Since there is no liner, there is much more printable area per label roll with this linerless technology.

Area of Use

  • Ticket and label printing scales on the service counter in retail and trade
  • Logistics

Highlights

  • Considerably more labels per roll since there is no liner. This results in a label length of 80 meters instead of the usual 47 meters.
  • Fewer roll changes, more printing time and less setup time – a major advantage at peak times.
  • Variable label length. After all bought articles have been recorded, the ticket is printed in the relevant length.
  • The non-adhesive patented grasping edge of the ticket reduces a possible adhesion. There are no adhesive residues sticking to the operator's fingers.
  • Injuries resulting from conventional staples are a thing of the past since bags are now sealed by means of labels. This also excludes liability damage.

The surface treatment of the Bizerba linerless labels already proves high quality. As compared to simple paper with a matt surface and often without a protective layer, the linerless label from Bizerba stands out. Its shiny, hygienic and high-quality surface has a special protection against water, other liquids and grease. The result are clear, perfect printouts.

Further development: Multicolor linerless labels

Bizerba has revolutionized the linerless technology and is capable of directly printing colored company logos and design elements onto the linerless paper – either in the background or on the label edge. The design allows the end product to look like a normal label.

This not only saves material since the logo in the header usually requires a quarter of the entire label length. The printhead of the customer's labeling system is also used less. Printing a logo needs a lot of performance and color. And finally the customer benefits from colored and appealing linerless labels.
