he District Dairy Cooperative in Kosow Lacki is one of the oldest and highly ranked among the largest cooperatives in Poland, operating for 100 years. It was founded in 1926 with the initial purpose of only producing butter and selling milk from farmers living in the nearby area of Kosow Lacki. Thanks to the collective commitment of the cooperative's members, the company is growing rapidly and expanding its portfolio with new products. Thanks to these efforts, the OSM Kosów Lacki brand is thriving, and recent investments in infrastructure, technology and modern production lines - financed, among other things, with EU funds - allow the company to maintain the high quality of its products and increase their availability on the domestic and foreign markets.

OSM Kosów Lacki is a medium-sized dairy cooperative, employing about 170 workers and processing an average of 63 million liters of milk per year, with an annual revenue of about PLN 200 million. OSM Kosów brand products combine tradition, naturalness and the highest quality, being made from milk from cows grazing in the Nadbuzanski Landscape Park, among other areas. The cooperative produces Swiss-Dutch, Dutch, cottage cheese and butter, and in recent years has also introduced spiced, smoked and long-ripened cheeses. The products are made by hand, according to traditional recipes, with no added dyes or preservatives, as confirmed by the prestigious "Quality Tradition" certificate.

Beginnings of OSM Kosów Lacki's Cooperation with Bizerba

The first Bizerba GLPmaxx 80 label printers with weighbridge appeared at OSM Kosów Lacki in 2013. For that moment, the printers proved to be a sufficient solution. However, over the years, cheese production increased, and thus the need for modern technology and expansion of production lines increased. OSM Kosów Lacki has been investing heavily in the development of its plant since 2017. Investments included the construction of a dairy warehouse and a production and social area. Subsequently, the dairy cooperative purchased a modern cottage cheese packaging machine with a GLM-Emaxx 50 1B weighing and labelling machine and a GLPmaxx 80 printer, a cheese packaging line with an A560 industrial slicer and a GLM-Ievo 70 1B weighing and labelling machine. The dairy cooperative also invested in a cheese-making line with increased capacity to produce cheese in the form of Euroblocks, which involved the purchase of another GLM-Ievo 40 1T weighing and labelling machine.

OSM Kosów Lacki produces maturing cheeses of the following types: Swiss-Dutch (Edamer, Baron, Lackdamer), Dutch (Gouda, Edamski, Podlaski, Zamojski, Morski, Gouda Lacka with Holes) and smoked cheeses (Jubilat and Gouda Wędzona). For the physically active and health-conscious, we recommend Fitness, Pro-Health and Light cheeses. A new addition to the range is the Magnal Old long-ripening cheese, awarded a silver medal in the Good Cheese 2022 competition.
