The success story of Bizerba started 150 years ago in Balingen, Baden-Württemberg. Until now, the founding family Kraut is firmly connected to Balingen and Bizerba - today in the fifth generation. Meanwhile Bizerba has become a global and in many areas market-leading technology company. Proven traditions and values ​​are just as appreciated as innovation and fresh thinking.

 

Starting your own label production

1983

To ensure printing systems can be manufactured in the required quantities, Bizerba set ups the P+E label production facility in Bochum.

Slim full electronic retail scale

1985

Development of the CD 8600 continues. Originally launched in 1981 as the first fully electronic shop scales, the product becomes the Alphamatic, Bizerba’s first system scales.

Industrial precission scale

1990

Precision scales for applications such as controlling, classifying, counting and formulating extend Bizerba’s range of industrial solutions.

Guenter Kraut

1991/1992

The company celebrates its 125th anniversary with a completely new generation of products for commerce, trade and industry. The Balingen site marks the occasion with Managing Director Guenter Kraut inaugurating a new building for its headquarters.

Commitment to the Environment

1994/1995

Bizerba sets up a fully customer-oriented environmental management system which is registered and certified in accordance with the European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).

First legal POS terminal

1998

With the first certifiable POS terminal, Bizerba successfully launches a homogenous retail system which combines the worlds of weighing scales and cash registers. Bizerba’s new system class (SC) of scales and cash registers are well received by the market.

System scales with Windows ® CE

1999

Certified as a Microsoft® system integrator, the “preferred provider” Bizerba develops the first system scales running on Windows® CE.

2001

Bizerba’s slicers with integrated portion scales gives generations of sales assistants what they have always wanted.
