Simply a better cut: Bizerba devices provide the highest possible energy efficiency
The sustainable use of resources is important to us as a family-run company. For this reason, energy efficiency is a particularly important aspect to us in designing new machines and devices.
Less electricity, more efficiency
With the help of a number of new developments we have repeatedly been able to significantly reduce the electricity consumption of our devices over the past years. As a result, the current Bizerba slicers need only roughly 50 percent of the energy which conventional models consume. As a case in point, one of our latest devices only needs approximately 80 Watts per hour. And this reduction in energy consumption is not only good for the environment:
Example calculation for 400 slicers, 260 production days and a power price of EUR 0.20 per kWh:
|Runtime in h per day||Savings in Watts per day||Savings in EUR per year|
In order to design such energy-efficient machines our engineers have concurrently introduced innovations in several fields and made significant progress in this process:
Example 1: Load-dependent control system
The motor only uses the power required for the necessary output. An item which is easy to slice does not need the full motor power and, moreover, the full torque does not have to be used - and energy consumption remains low.
Example 2: Idling and stand-by
At many users' facilities, the machines are in idling mode throughout the day. In this mode, our current devices need approximately 45 percent less energy than conventional machines. In stand-by mode, power consumption is even as low as 0 Watts. There is not even a residual current.
Example 3: Generation of heat
Resource-saving machines heat up less. As a result, ventilation holes at the bottom are no longer necessary. Since the surface is now fully closed, liquids, residues of product to be sliced and dust can no longer reach the interior of the device. At the same time, heat is not dissipated into the environment or into products in the storage area. As a result, this development does not only reduce electricity costs but also ensures a higher degree of hygiene.
